Packing your favorite snacks and books for school is exciting until the handle on your gear refuses to move. This happens to everyone at some point during the school week. Check for stuck fabric:
Sometimes a small piece of your school uniform or a loose thread from your bag gets caught in the sliding parts. Look closely at the metal poles to see if anything is blocking the path. If you find a tiny bit of cloth tucked inside, gently pull it out with your fingers. Removing these small blocks usually allows the metal parts to slide up and down freely again.
Look for hidden dirt:
Dirt from the playground or small crumbs from lunch can fall into the holes where the handle hides. These tiny bits of grit act like brakes and stop the parts from moving smoothly. Take a dry cloth and wipe the long metal poles until they shine. Clean poles move much better than dirty ones.
Press the button firmly:
The magic button on top of the grip is what tells the handle to move. If it feels loose or does not click, it might be stuck in the wrong position.
